Paycheck

I've been having major economic problems and for once, it's not my fault. My boss for CTS forgot to file my timesheet so I didn't get paid last Thursday. This has been causing all sorts of problems for me such as not being able to pay the insurance money to my dad, my account went negative and I was charged $50 for it and I don't know if i'm goign to be able to pay my credit card bill in time which would in turn charge me even more!!! I'm trying to get ahold of the person who is supposed to be giving me a check but she isn't responding and I'm trying to get ahold of Denise at Bank of America to remove the charges because they aren't my fault. Unfortunetly I'm in class right now so I can't do anything!

And to make matters worse, Chris locked me out of the room this morning when I went to go take a shower and didn't take his cell phone with him. I was late to class and didn't get a chance to eat breakfast because of the douchebag (and this time it's not a nickname!) I had to get Spencer to get me a lock-out key.

I have two more projects I have to get done this semester in addition to all of my finals. An essay for ENG and a statistical project for MAT.

I just want this semester to end! I don't particularly want to go home, I just don't want to work anymore! I wish I could go from today to Christmas back to January 21st.

Oh and before my parents start getting mad at me not wanting to go home it's because of the condition of my room, not you them. I don't feel like going back to that dusty, moldy, horrible place to be. I can't breathe there and it's just miserable.

AHHHHHHH!!!

Wow, the lab is busy today! People rushing to get their end of semester projects printed. I feel more like a Printing Assistant today rather than a Computer Lab Assistant!

Thanksgiving weekend went ok. I'm really starting to hate my bedroom though. For all the positive aspects of being at home, the condition of my room takes away three. First off, it's dusty and moldy which drives my asthma insane, I wasn't able to take a full breath all weekend long. Also, because of how dry the air is, I wake up every morning with a totally dry mouth, tongue, and lips. Sorry Mom and Dad but I'm beginning to hate coming back home! :)

Amber made a tofu turkey which I really enjoyed, but she didn't like too much it seems. The whole nation got Rick Rolled during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade which was really funny.

Black Friday at Walmart was crazy. People running everywhere grabbing things. I'm glad I was behind the register and not acting as crowd control! Some TVs actually got broken in all the madness. People really will do anything to get a deal...sheesh.

I spent the rest of my Friday with Amber and her Mom installing my new car stereo. My old radio was shot, so Amber gave me the stereo that Dusty gave her to save for when she got her own car. The parts to install the thing cost me quite a bit, but I finally have a working radio again, and a CD player too!

On Saturday we went to visit Uncle Dan and Aunt Tracey to surprise Grandma Akers for her birthday in Morrisville. I was so happy to see them for the first time in YEARS! My cousins Max and Clare (although I'm sure they didn't remember us) seemed glad to see us as well.

Nothing important happened yesterday, all I did was spend the whole day packing and getting ready to come back here. Amber and I watched The House Bunny after we got everything done and put away.

This morning my first class was canceled. I was glad to get the e-mail last night about it. I only have 5 more ENG 220 and MAT 158 classes left and 4 MET 100, ISC 220, and CSC 120.

I've got a math test Wednesday. It's the last test before the final and if I don't do well (not GREAT, just OK) on it I might not get the minimum C+ to pass the class. I REALLY don't want to take this course again. I have to study tomorrow, just refresh my memory on this stuff. I understand a lot of it in class, but I never retain the information when I leave. As soon as I walk out of that classroom, I forget about everything. Sigh...

Well that's about everything....

23 Days Until Christmas!

Sorry for the lack of updates!

Yeah I realize that I haven't updated in a long time but there hasn't been anything interesting at all going on recently. I spent all day yesterday working on my paper for English 220. I successfully proved that you can do a 5 and a half page research paper in one day with no previous knowledge on it. I changed my topic right before I even started. I was going to write about Sarah Palin but after realizing how difficult that was actually going to be, I changed my topic to be about how maps are beneficial to presidential elections.

We're going home tomorrow for Thanksgiving break. I can't wait to finally have access to WiFi again. Oh and see my family too I guess...>.>

This will be my first thanksgiving as a vegetarian, and I'm excited about it. Amber can't wait to cook a whole bunch of vegetarian dishes and I can't wait to eat them lol.

I'm at work right now with an hour left to go. I'm so bored and have nothing to do. I brought my DS with me to play, but I don't really want to for fear of getting strange looks by the students here. It's bad enough I'm sitting in the lab with my Nerd Herd shirt on typing in my Livejournal, to see me playing my DS, and Pokemon Ranger 2 nonetheless, is bound to get me ridiculed.

At least the TalkRadar podcast keeping my entertained on my iPod.

We have practice tonight for Boys Down the Hall. We have three upcoming performances and we're working hard so we sound great. We're currently working on learning a new song, Irish Blessing. Jeremy found a new guy who wanted to join us and was supposed to come tonight, but because of a family emergency, we won't see him until after break.

I really don't want to pack up my stuff tomorrow, it's such a pain to unhook my Wii and stuff to bring it home. Especially my Guitar Hero World Tour set. The guitars are easy to carry around, but now I have this big drum set to bring home with me as well along with my laptop, clothes, the gerbs, and whatever else I need....AHHH!!!!!

I'm not being allowed to be the late-night DRO next semester at Lakeside. Even though I'm one of the best ones they have, apparently because the managers have it out for me, they've requested to Shannon that I not be DRO. That's ok, I'm applying to be a Computer Technician in Scales hall for next semester which is the exact same job I already do for CTS. If I get that, I'm quitting lakeside. If not, I'll still have all my CTS hours for next semester, and I'll have to be a late-night server for lakeside which I'm really sick of working late-night. I never have time to get anything done when I'm working at late-night. All time evening time is sucked away by working then and it really sucks.

Anyway, I'm sick of ranting and I'm done now.

BLAH

I hate math...

I don't know what to do anymore, I'm sick of math. After getting such a low grade on my last test, I tried to work harder for the next time. I did all my homework and paid better attention in class. I really understood the concepts of these few chapters. Well apparently I didn't because I got to the test today and I'm pretty sure I bombed it. All that work I did learning the concepts was useless because it was never used on the test as far as I could tell. I could be wrong, but it was not the same as we did for homework. We might have learned the stuff on the test, but it definitely wasn't what I've been working on. So I wasted my time and I probably failed it. I need this class for my major and I really don't want to retake it again.

On a brighter side, Dome was yesterday. Auburn came in 3rd place which everyone I spoke to was disappointed with. I would have loved to get 3rd place when I was in the band. It was Jenn's last time with the band and I recorded the whole thing. I haven't gotten around to editing it and uploading it online yet but I'll do it eventually.

I got Guitar Hero: World Tour Sunday morning at midnight. Amber, Chris, Jess and I took a trip to Walmart in Fulton to see if I could get a copy of the game. When we got there, there was a big line and I was heartbroken when I heard they only got one copy of each system's band kit in. Somehow, amazingly, I was the only one there who wanted the Wii Band kit, so I went from the back of the line right to the front while everyone else fought over who was getting the only PS2/PS3/360 versions. Until this morning I was convinced my drum set was broken. Many many people have been reporting that the red drum pad on the set didn't work all the time and when I was playing my set I noticed this to be true.Apparently I was just being a hypochrondriac because after playing around with the set for a couple hours this morning I realized it was the pad, it was me. It's tough to hit the yellow cymbal and the red pad at the same time as is required in almost every song. It's tough, but it doesn't mean the set was broken. I finally figured out the technique to make it work. Now I can happily report that the only glitch I'm having with the game is the occasional hiccup the guitar has where it will strum with you doing anything causing it to break your combo and mess you up.

Saturday we had BDtH rehearsal at Garrett's house. I lost my Run Around Sue solo because of a freak occurance where I couldn't hit the high notes. I've been perfectly fine every other time, but for some reason I couldn't do it. Instead they're having Frank do it which is insane considering he's a bass and I'm a tenor II.  We got a new member as well, Rob Kristal, a tenor I.

Friday was the Ball in the House concert. Those guys are amazing. They sang a lot of stuff I don't remember from last year. I got almost the whole show on tape but my battery died 57 mins in so I missed the end of the concert. Their VP guy, Johnny wasn't there on account of his wife having a baby three weeks ago and the replacement's name was Steve. They sang us a couple songs off of their upcoming Christmas album, due out mid-November. Afterwards we went to Bridie Manor and hung out with them there like we did last year. How many award winning bands will hang out with you after their show? That's what makes these guys so great. On the way to the bar, as we were walking to Garrett's car, Amber fell and sprained her ankle. She went to the hospital on Saturday and she's on crutches now.

Earlier in the week we had a "chat" with Chris about all his baby stuff. When I say we, I mean Amber, Scott, Jeremy, and I. Steve, Scott's roommate was there too but wasn't talking that much. We were basically lecturing him about what's going to happen if he doesn't get his act together and get a job. We talked outside for quite a bit until Jeremy went back to Riggs and we went inside. Scott and Chris left while Amber, Steve, and I continued talking in the stairwell until Scott came back and we moved our discussion into the main lounge. Chris eventually came down to the lounge and we basically went back to what we were talking to him about before. You'd think after all the yelling we did and lecturing we attempted to give him he would have gone out and tried to get a job right? Well he didn't and isn't. Apparently his parents think it would be stupid for him to work now because he needs to focus on his classes. For a few days I was extremely pissed and hostile towards him for completely going against what we advised but I've gotten over it. I've tried to help and he's not having any part of it so I've stopped caring. So has everyone else. I'm not yelling, but I don't support him. I can't possibly support him if he's not going to listen to us and take our advice.

I'm having major car trouble. My battery died again. We tried jumping it before and it worked but we assume the reason it died in the first place was because of my Sirius radio. Well it died again and my radio wasn't even plugged in. I need to find a place in town to buy a new battery and a place to install it for me (hopefully one in the same) because I have no idea how to do it.

I've still got a ton of time at work left and nothing much else to do. I like how livejournal's calling itself Undeadjournal this week in honor of Halloween. I still don't have a costume yet...

Schedule of events this week:
Tuesday: Working at Lakeside
Wednesday: Supposed to work at Lakeside but going to try to find a sub because there is another Rocky Horror Show being held in the campus center like last year.
Thursday: BDtH practice and the Drag Ball. Probably going to have practice earlier so we can go.
Friday: Halloween! I'm invited to a party at Bryan's house (he's in BDtH and I work with him at Lakeside) so that should be fun.
Saturday: Lakeside work and BDtH rehearsal.

Canceled class

I wasn't planning on going to English class today because Amy was going to Mississippi and we were just going to watch a movie that didn't really have anything to do with the upcoming essay and was just background information on what we've been learning in class. Amber and Kelly suggested that I just show up to class, sign in, and leave. Well I ended up doing just that, but it wasn't my choice. When I got to class (purposely late, I knew I wouldn't miss anything) the TA, Mandy, was struggling to get the DVD player to work. When she couldn't she tried to play the DVD on the computer. That didn't work either so she gave up, told us to sign the sign-in sheet and leave. I had to work (and am still here) at 10 in Snygg so I couldn't exactly go home. My flash drive was still in the computer I was using during my programming class luckily so I went and picked it up before waiting to punch in to work. Coincidentally, Alex (of Boys Down the Hall) was using the exact same computer. I think I confused the hell out of him when I ran in and grabbed the flash drive.

I just got done watch Chuck 2x03 - Chuck vs. The Break-Up and it was awesome. This series just keeps getting better and better. Bryce (the guy who put the intersect in Chuck's head in the first place left him a pair of sunglasses in his room which, when put on, updated the intersect. I'm thinking that means even if they manage to rebuild the intersect, Chuck's still going to be more up-to-date and they're still going to need him (thus prolonging the series). It's funny, I'm sure the writers know what they're doing, but it always seems like each episode is going to be the last, or at least, they're numbered and won't last long. That's what I call good writing. It doesn't seem forced either. It doesn't seem like they are artificially prolonging the series either. It all flows really well.

Oh, and House was also freaking awesome last night!  Wilson's back!

Gotta work tonight, probably gonna be a typical Wednesday night (extremely busy...ugh). Otherwise, that all I have to talk about.

Our wonderful weekend!

This past weekend was one of the best in a long time. Not only did we have no classes Thursday and Friday because of Yom Kippur and Fall Break Day, it was also Amber's and mine three year anniversary AND both of our roommates were gone for the weekend (as well as over half of campus) The easiest way to make sure I don't forget anything is to write about it day by day, so here goes:

THURSDAY:
The first day of our vacation started out a little rough, but got much better. First of all, Lakeside Dining Hall was closed for break, so our only food option on campus was Cooper, which we both dislike. We made a vow not to go to Cooper once over break and we actually managed to pull it off. Starting with Thursday, we went to Arby's for lunch to try their new Mac n' Cheezers.

I got the idea of going to Carousel mall sometime that weekend, and Amber thought that Thursday was a good a day as any to go. We ended up getting slightly lost on the way there, I forgot that I had to take exit 9S off 481 to get on 81 but a friendly cop got us back in the right direction.

We spent pretty much the entire day at the mall, going to tons of different places. I got a pair of skull candy ear buds and a` mini iPod speaker at FYE which were both on sale. We went to Borders and I got the first volume of the new Legend of Zelda manga. I helped Amber buy a book too and she also got a Tarot card set and book. We got dinner in the food court and went home shortly after.

When we got back it was still relatively early so we decided to watch a movie, The Rocker. It was ok, Afterwards I went downstairs to play Uncharted: Drake's Fortune while Amber read.

FRIDAY:
We had decided the day before that we wanted to see a movie that night but we couldn't figure out which. We kind of wanted to see Eagle Eye and Lakeview Terrace, but with the mediocre reviews we found. we weren't sure. We finally settled on City of Ember. For lunch we both had leftovers and whatever we could find in our rooms.

City of Ember was nothing like I expected, but it was really good nonetheless. I didn't know it was based on a book, but I had a feeling it was before I saw the end credits. I thought it was supposed to be this serious action movie, but we still weren't disappointed.

For dinner we got McDonalds, and man that place was mobbed. The place was full of high school kids, but it was to be expected. There was a football game taking place right outside (McDonald's is RIGHT NEXT to the high school).

When we got home, Amber helped me (ok, she did most of the work) rearrange the room. Pics are up on facebook and Myspace of the new layout. Check them out if you wanted to see. It's less cluttered than it was before so I'm pretty satisfied with it. I spent a little bit of time with Amber in her room after we finished and headed back downstairs to get her anniversary presents ready for the following day.

SATURDAY
Our anniversary finally came. Amber got me a bunch of stuff including:
a tripod for my video camera
a 4 gig HCSD card for my camera
a new necklace
a karaoke thing for my iPod
and my favorite, a t-shirt that says "Vegetarians Rock"

I ended up getting her season 3 of House on DVD and earrings, which we ended up returning because I thought they were diamonds when they were actually cubic zirconium (silly me) . She ordered something else online with the money instead to make up for it so she was happy.

We went to Ponderosa for lunch after going to Walmart (to return the earrings). I also discovered that Axe is finally going to make Shampoo as they had a trial size for sale along with hair gel also made by them.

We watched House that afternoon before going to dinner at Ruby Tuesday which was excellent. The food was awesome. We watched more House after dinner before we both went to bed.

SUNDAY
I spent Sunday morning cleaning up the room because Chris was coming back that night and afterwards watched more House with Amber. We once again had our own food for breakfast/lunch. For dinner, before I went to work, Amber made falafel, which I had never eaten before, and was pretty good.

Work was uneventful last night. We were supposed to have Boys Down the Hall practice last night at 9:30 PM because we didn't have any practice last week since no one was around, but I didn't have one single person give me a 100% confirmation that they were going to be there. Everyone said they were going to be late or were still on the road coming back. So, I canceled it. We watched House again until I went back downstairs and did my usual messing around on the internet before going to sleep.

Man what a weekend! I almost didn't want to go back to regular college life today. Who am I kidding, of course I didn't want to go back to normal!

As for today, there was nothing noteworthy going on. It's Columbus Day so no one has school, except for us. There was an open house today as well so we were stormed with crowds of high school students all day *shudder*. I saw the State Singers in the Campus center food court this morning and thought to myself that it would have been cool if we (The Boys Down the Hall) sung there. Then I remembered that Kris actually gave us the opportunity to perform there, but we would not have been (and still aren't) ready to perform. Our first performance is sometime in November for the next open house. I can't remember exactly, I have it written down somewhere.

So that is the awesome summary of my awesome weekend. Phew...my fingers are tired!

Getting better

The doctor at Mary Walker gave me some kind of antibiotic. It's not amoxycillin because I'm allergic to it but it's something that I take 2 for the first day and one for the next 4 days. She thinks that will cure me, but just in case took a throat culture to make sure I didn't have strep. Unless I'm 100% better by Wednesday, she wants me to stop in in the morning. I'm already feeling somewhat better so I think that's exactly what I needed. She also gave me a bottle of their "sore throat gargle" which was 1 half cherry maalox and 1 half benedryl. That definitely helped too.

Other than that I don't have much else to talk about. We had a test in Stats today. I'm not exactly sure how I did on it, only time will tell.

Work went very well tonight. I'm still here, but only have 20 mins left in my shift. I managed to get my ISC assignment done and turned in even though we don't have class tomorrow.

I want to play a game, my brain needs some stimulation. Maybe if I can pull Chris off the TV I'll try out Devil May Cry 4 or Lego Batman after I get some food at late-night.

Yawn!

Man...there has been nothing interesting at all going on recently which is why there has been a lack of updates. Pretty much the most exciting thing that has happened all week is that I got Mega Man 9 Monday and holy crap is it hard. Gone are the days where I can just breeze through the 8-bit Mega Man games in a couple hours. It's taking countless number of hours and DEATHS to get through each stage. Especially when it comes to Wily's stages at the end. I got to the second stage boss, died and ran out of lives. Frustrated I saved and quit which actually sucks because if you continue, you can pick right back up on that same stage; but if you go to the stage select screen or quit, you have to start back at the first level (of Wily's castle), which was hard enough to get through! Oh well, if games were meant to be beaten in a day, they wouldn't be as fun right?

Last Saturday Amber, Chris, Jessica, and I went along with Kelly, Kevin, Russ, and two of his friends to Trexx in Syracuse. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a gay bar. Yet, it didn't seem THAT gay when we were there. I was expecting, I don't know, a lot more gay men. It just seemed like a regular bar to me, well, except for the Drag Queen dancing there lol. Jessica got sick and was throwing up for most of the night so they (Chris too) basically sat out in the car for most of the night. Sure sounds like a fun evening to me. We went to the B-Ville diner afterwards which is kind of funny because the Vanguard had their show in B-Ville hours earlier. Chris drove to Syracuse initially, and I drove home because he had to "attend" to Jessica. I had to stop multiple times on the way home because she had to throw up. Did I mention this whole pregnancy thing is really fucking annoying? Anyway...

As for this week, there has been literally nothing interesting happening. I've been going to class and going to work and not much else. I'm at work now, as updating from work seems to be the most convenient for me. We have our first practice for Boys Down the Hall tomorrow. We should be learning Chasing Cars, so long as Scott can manage to teach it to all of us. We don't have the sheet music for it.

This weekend is the Harvest of Sound, the Vanguard's home show. Not only do I get the see the marching band show in it's finished form for the first time, I also get my new cell phone that day. I'm finally due for my upgrade and I'll be getting a black LG Shine when I come into Auburn for the weekend. Yay!

My classes this semester are going really really well.

ENG 220: Amy Shore is the funniest/most awesome teacher I've ever had (with my SOC100 teacher coming in 2nd). She makes fun of everyone (in a nice way, kind of) and makes the class really interesting. The only real assignments we're going to have in that class are three major essays. Not looking forward to that, but she said she's going to make it as easy as possible for us.

ISC 220: Despite being very hard to understand, Professor Yoon is a great teacher. I admit, I was skeptical about having her in a classroom after taking her online ISC 110 course last semester with mistyped questions and unclear details, but having her in a classroom is much much better. She explains everything extremely well and makes everything very easy to understand. She's really giving me a good idea what Information Science is all about, and I really like it! I still don't really know what kinds of jobs are available in the IS field, but with all the internships Oswego offers, I shouldn't have too many problems finding something to do with my degree!

MAT 158: Stats. I hate math, but Professor Mosbo somehow knows how to make it interesting, kind of. The main thing that annoys me about the class is that he assigns homework but never checks, grades, or goes over it. I hate professors who do that, it makes it a lot harder to learn the concepts. Other than that the concepts in the class aren't too hard, I've been exposed to many of them before in previous math classes and he's pretty funny and nice too.

CSC 120: Ugh, don't even get me started on this class. It's so friggin' easy. This is the BASIC level programming class that I am being forced to take for my ISC major. I've already completed the higher level programming classes and now I'm forced to take two steps backwards. I know all the information already and it makes the class so easy. Professor Bosch is great though. He knows that I , along with a couple other guys know all the info already and offers bonus points on the assignments if we do more than what's expected of us, which isn't too hard considering anything basic I can add to the project nets me the extra points. This is the kind of programming class I wish they started me with in my freshman year. I might have still liked programming today, but now it's too late. This class is structured similar to the Visual Basic classes I took in high school. Everyone is sitting at a computer at all times while he gives directions in class, we're sitting there programming right along with him. It's very hands-on and that's the best way I learn. Oh well...I'll get an easy A in the class anyway...

MET 100: What can I possibly say about Professor Skubis...he's a huge science nerd. He's goofy and LOVES weather perhaps a bit too much. He spends half the class showing weather maps and forecasting the weather for the next few days and doesn't start giving notes until way over half-way through. He's a really exciting teacher, but somehow I still manage to fall asleep in his class until we get to the note-taking portion. Man that guy loves hurricanes....

That's pretty much everything I have to say for now.

This is Josh Farrell, signing off.

-Goodbye-

New hair color!

Taking a cue from the green I dyed my hair last year, I'm going with a different color this year. White! Well, it didn't exactly turn out white. It's very light, and only slightly purple (yes purple), but it looks great nonetheless. I'm very satisfied with it.

We had a boring Lakeside meeting tonight where Shanon told us what we already knew.

I have nothing to do tomorrow night and it's friday. Luckily Saturday's going to be fun! I'll be sure to post about that when the time comes!

3 more days until Mega Man 9 is released (I hope!)

Uneventful

The last few days have been very uneventful. I've been working, going to class, playing video games, whatever. Nothing noteworthy at all. One of the guys in my hall, Dan, has a wireless router set up so he can use his Wii online and he agreed to give me internet access on Monday so I can download Mega Man 9 on WiiWare when it it released! Now I don't have to bring my Wii home on the 27th when I go home for the Harvest of Sound.

I'm at work in Snygg again. Seems like work is the best place to update my journal, lots of free time and nothing to do with it. I've had really bad heartburn all morning and I don't know why...ugh...

I've been playing Metal Gear Solid 4 quite a bit recently. I'm on Act 4 of 5. Storyline-wise, this game is absolutely amazing. It manages to connect every single event, no matter how insignificant from every game in the Metal Gear series (even the NES ones). There have been many times where I have been left speechless at some of the twists. I won't spoil anything here but for anyone who has played the Metal Gear Solid games, I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend playing this one, you'd be crazy not to!

Half an hour left of this shift then class at 3 and work tonight at 8:24. I'm so busy.

The Weekend

Me vest
This was a pretty nice a relaxing weekend. I'm currently at work in Penfield right now and it's a slow Sunday night. This afternoon I watched Boyz n the Hood with Amber because she had to watch it for one of her PSY classes. I went downstairs and did my ISC homework and ate dinner before I came here.

Yesterday Amber and I went to see Burn After Reading. It was pretty good, but Amber felt that it was like "half a movie". The best way to describe the movie are the last two lines in it:

"So what did we learn from all this?"
"Hell if I know, but we know not to do it again!"

...and then it just ends. There really is no point to the movie. It was good but kind of felt unfinished.

Friday night the only thing I remember doing was watching Employee of the Month with Amber in her room. We originally planned to see Burn After Reading that night, but decided to go Saturday instead.

I neglected to mention what happened Thursday because I was so caught up in the Tribble incident. (Grr..) We all went out to bodified because the girls wanted to get piercings. Amber got her nose pierced and Jessica her lip. I got the whole thing on video with my new camera (which actually turned out pretty nice!) and put it all together in a movie called" Piercers" which I have saved on my computer. After bodified, we went grocery shopping at almost every place in town! Mustard Seed (an all organic food store), Walmart, and Price Chopper. I got a lot of good stuff, and so did Amber.

That's about all I have to report. Chris is still annoying, but what else is new?

Greetings from work!

I'm currently at work in the Snygg computer lab and it's slow so I'm taking the time to update my journal since I haven't in a couple days. Let me see...when was the last time I updated...wow, friday, ok I have some catching up to do!

SATURDAY:
As far as I can remember, nothing too important happened. Amber was still gone in PA. and I basically sat around with Chris and Jessica all day (thrilling huh?) I did my homework, took out the garbage, and did my laundry. OH! I forgot, I worked from 11 - 2 and after I got out, my parents had me meet them at Ontario Orchards because Grandma Akers was visiting for the day and they brought her up. They had stuff for me which they gave me there. I ordered my first zonie of the year that night which had to be Macaroni and Cheese only instead of my favorite Mac & Dog Zonie since I've been trying to be a vegetarian for almost two weeks now! Go me! It wasn't even Amber who got me to do it, I just kind decided on my own. Sure, seeing her helped, but I'm doing it because I realized that I gained 3 pounds after being here for only a week and I needed to start eating way healthier! Being a vegetarian was definitely the way to go! Although there are some foods I miss eating...oh well...

SUNDAY:
Amber was still gone and I got up at 10 forgetting that I thought I was supposed to attend the SAPB conference being held in the campus center. I rushed over there half asleep and unshowered and sat through two meetings until I got a phone call from Scott saying I already knew all the info and didn't really need to be there. Wish I'd known that before going! At least I got a cool portfolio-type thing for free for going! After went back to the dorm and we (Chris, Jess, and I) got some brunch we went out shopping. I needed some stuff from Wal-Mart like folders, vitamins, and a micro fleece throw blanket. What?! It's soft and comfy! Anyway...we went to Price Chopper afterwards because Jess wanted some orange juice because..oh yeah...I haven't mentioned it here yet...well it's pretty much common knowledge know...

Jessica is pregnant.

and they're keeping it.

>.<

We've been dealing with all of that since Thursday when they told us. What a mess that all is...oi...I'm nicknaming the baby Baby Douche since Chris is Douchebag and Jessica has been dubbed Douchette

Anyway....I went off to work at Penfield at 5 for my first CLA shift! It's such an easy job, perfect for me! (I'm kidding! I'm not THAT lazy!!) There was supposed to be someone there to help with my first shift, but no one showed up so I basically winged it. Thankfully I had no problems even arise. After my CLA shift, I had to rush back to Scales to get ready for my second job of the night, at Lakeside. 8:24 - 11:24 as DRO, as usual. Actually my hours got changed. I was in at 9 before, but we've been extremely busy so I have to come in every night at 8:24 now. It's kind of annoying...but oh well. I also discovered Galbadia Garden on Sunday, a website where you can download many different video game soundtracks. I got Mega Man 1 - 5 because I've been on a crazy Mega Man kick recently (Mega Man 9 ALMOST confirmed for Sept. 22nd release on Wii Ware!!) and the soundtracks to Mario 1, 2, and 3 and Zelda 1 and 2.

MONDAY:
Today was kind of a fun day. Amber finally came back and I got to give her her shirt I bought friday along with a big House picture I got at the Beyond the Wall poster sale in the Campus Center. Classes weren't too noteworthy, I had a quiz in Math and class was held in Snygg 6 (that's where I am now!!) to learn how to use Minitab (a computer program for working with stats). I had a CLA shift at Penfield from 4:30 - 8:00. Tim from CTS was there to run me through everything I needed to know (what I needed the night before). Everything went pretty smoothly. When I got out of work we were going camera shopping! Amber got quite a bit of money from working the weekend and needed to buy a new camera because her's is broken and mine sucks. We decided to go to the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Fulton because A.) We've never been and B.) They potentially have a much larger selection of items there compared to the Oswego Wal-Mart. I had also planned to get a video camera for use with Boys Down the Hall among other things like marching band competitions and Chris's baby. Before we went to Wal-Mart we all (all four of us) went to Ruby Tuesday for dinner. It was a much better experience than the last time we went. After the long drive to Fulton, we finally found the Wal-Mart, and it was out in the middle of nowhere! Amber ended up getting a 10.2 Megapixel black Samsung camera among a couple other things and I got this awesome looking Samsung video camera. It's by no means a top of the camcorder, but for what I need it for, it will work perfectly. Plus, it looks awesome! Chris also ended up buying something at Wal-Mart...Jessica's engagement ring (and wedding band). She helped picked it out, romantic huh? I also managed to find Oriental flavored Top Ramen brand ramen noodles. Why are these so special? They are the only ramen noodles (in the packages) that are purely vegetarian. The maruchan oriental flavor isn't. Cool huh? Chris ended up proposing to Jessica that night in his dorm room and I recorded it with my camera. Again, romantic, right? *rolls eyes*. I also spent the night in Amber's room because she wasn't feeling really well (and still isn't) until I left around 3 am and went back to my room.

TUESDAY:
We had a fire drill at 7:15 AM, the first one I've ever been woken up by at school. Of course it was pouring outside so were all had to stand outside in our pajamas in the freezing cold and rain. What a fun way to start the morning huh? The Boys Down the Hall auditions were at 6:30 last night and had a rather disappointing turnout. We only had two guys audition:

Cliff Weinstein  - Tenor II
Frank Risole - Bass

I was hoping for more people to show up and they might tonight but if not, we're not too badly off. Our group currently stands:

Jeremy - Tenor I
Cliff - Tenor II
Bryan - Tenor II
Me - Baritone
Chris - Baritone
Scott - Bass
Frank - Bass

Flip recommended that we not do Take Me Home Tonight as the solo is quite high and difficult. Instead he suggested that we relearn Run Around Sue with the new guys, and me doing Ken's solo (he quit the group claiming he had too full a schedule and was in a "real" band now...hrrmph) and potentially Scott's and Garrett's too. Garrett is gone from the group as well (graduating in December) and Scott can't sing as well as right now because of some problem I don't remember. After that he thinks we should work on Chasing Cars, Crazy, Good Ol' Acapella, and Insomniac all previously done by BDtH and not that hard to learn. Scott said I was in charge so I wholeheartedly agreed (Flip knows how much I LOVE Chasing Cars (the song, not the activity). Tonight is the blending exercises to see how well the new guys sing with us. Chris's parents came up to Oswego while I was at the auditions. Apparently they want them to live with them now, which is the direct opposite of how they acted when he first told them Sunday. Personally I don't think it's a very good idea for many reasons. I worked at Lakeside after auditions were over and man was it busy! We're calling late-night Dinner 2 because there have been pretty much the same amount of people for late-night as there is for dinner. This semester is just brutal! We did over 400 people in the first hour! That's nuts!! Jeremy introduced to me to www.televisiontunes.com, even though I already had it bookmarked, I didn't know you could actually download all the TV themes so I've been having fun and going nuts downloading the theme songs for all the shows I used to watch and even the ones I currently do! It's a fun trip down memory lane :)

Well, I've got an hour left of my shift here, it's a short one today, only 2 hours then it's off to lunch! It's always nice catching up on missed days with one huge entry. It's funny to see how much I end up typing when I really get into it!

Oh and Kelly got her eyebrow pierced. Random I know, but I didn't find out until late last night.

I also have been listening to 3OH!3 a lot. Don't Trust Me, their new single is AWESOME! Their style is similar to Gym Class Heroes being a combination of Alt Rock and Hip-Hop/Rap.

I thought of the band name I want to have in Guitar Hero: World Tour -- Wiizer Get it? I like Weezer and I'm getting World Tour for the Wii? It's lame and perfect! God I can't wait to get that game...it's pretty much the only game I care about for like the entire rest of the year. October 26th (yes that is Dome day as well!) can't come soon enough...

Work mixup

I thought I was supposed to work 11 - 2 at Penfield today, but when I got there, there was someone already working there. I got ahold of Kris, the person in charge of the CLA's she told me she gave the shift to someone else because I originally said I couldn't work it but forgot to update the schedule online. So apparently I only work Sun and Mon.

I've been on a Mega Man X4 kick recently because I've been watching this one guy on youtube's videos and he's doing a playthrough so I hooked up my PS2 so I could play it too. I beat all the 8 "robot masters" in a matter of a couple hours which I could decide was really good or pathetic. Either way, I had to stop playing to go to work.

Work way busier than usual but I did'n't think it was too bad.

I'm still loving Google Chrome BTW.

Amy Shore (my ENG 220 teacher) is still one insane teacher and statistics is pretty easy (let's hope it says like that...)

Very long post!

It's 10 AM on Thursday the 14th of August and I'm tired and groggy. I have to work in an hour and a half all day long (11:30 - 8:30) blargh....at least tomorow's hours are nice. (10 am - 2 pm)

My PS2 cases came yesterday so I spent the day (while I wasn't at work) taking all the games off the shelf, throwing out the covers, putting the cases in a box, and putting the games in the case. It's nice to have them all in the two cases now. Keeps them all together and organized. I actually had 6 more games than would fit in, so I just got rid of some crappy ones. As for the shelves they were on, I'm throwing out the black one because it's been broken for ages and I don't think it's fixable. The other wooden one I slid over and am using it for all my other games. I've got my Wii, DS, Gamecube, PS1, PSP, and PS2 (just Final Fantasy X, X-2, XII, and Dirge of Cerberus) on it.

Absolutely nothing special happened at work yesterday, I think. I can't really remember, but I don't think anything important happened. My parents came around 7 and I wandered around with them getting groceries.

I've been going to bed really late for the past two nights. I don't know, I just can't sleep recently, until late that is. Two nights ago, I was up until 2:30 packing for college. I got all my boxes out of the closet and filled them up, stacked up where everything was originally piled up. Last night I was just finishing with the cases and reorganizing until like 1:30, and I watched TV until 2:30. I really need to start getting back on schedule (not that I had a very good one) for college. Going to bed before 2:30 anyway! I have an extremely full schedule for next semester, not just classes. So I need to make sure I have enough time, and energy to get everything done!!

As for my Mega Man endeavours, I beat 1 - 6, but when I got to 7, I had a real eye-opener. It was a hell of a lot harder than the NES games. I got all the way up to Turbo Man, but I cannot beat his level for the life of me. I didn't feel like dealing with it anymore, so I input a password to get right to Dr. WIly at the end, and couldn't beat him either!! Frustrated, I just went on to Mega Man 8. I like how it's set up, being a PS1 game originally, but it's still pretty tough. I just can't wait until Mega Man 9 hits Wii Ware. It's a shame that I won't actually be able to download it until I come home for Thanksgiving, unless some strange unforseen miracle happens where I have the opportunity, but I don't forsee that happening!!

I think I'm coming to the end of Final Fantasy IV. I've beaten it before (on the GBA), I just don't remember how far along I am. I just beat Rubicante and got Edge. So...I dunno.

OH DEAR GOD! I thought I just lost my entire thing I've typed so far for a second. I accidentally went back a page and clicked forward and it was gone. You can restore from a draft that it automatically saves! PHEW!

Anyway, Simon (remember the kittens?) died yesterday. He's been having problems recently, so it didn't really come as a surprise to us. My mom was the saddest about it because she wanted to keep him, and I think we actually were going to, but can't now, obviously. They buried him last night.

I don't think I've talked about this yet, my parents aren't helping me move to college. We've moving in on a tuesday, Dad refuses to close the kennel, and Mom won't get off work. I'm stranded with no one to help me move all my stuff. It's great that they have jobs they have to go to...so does everyone else's parents who will be helping them move in tuesday!! It's no excuse!!  So now I have to have Amber help me get my stuff up there because they won't! Hrrmph.

Tom's check still hasn't come. I'm not worried that it won't, I'm just annoyed that it isn't here yet. It came the first week of August last year and we're almost done with the second. Josh's puppies go home soon and I'll get the money from my Grandma to help pay for my books because I didn't get my scholarship.

I guess today is the third quarter picnic at Wal-Mart. To celebrate the third quarter (which I didn't think we were in yet, but oh well) and the ending of inventory, they staff is throwing a picnic with like really top notch food and stuff. Each associate gets a lunch and is offered their choice between steak or chicken. I'm probably gonna have chicken considering I hate steak! It'll save me from having to buy lunch today!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars comes out tomorrow and I have the time and money to see it, but Amber won't let me. She feels that since it is not a real Star Wars movie, just a cartoon, that I don't need to waste my money to see it., and I should just wait until my Dad downloads it. Sigh...I'm still waiting for my copy of Pineapple Express to watch. I hope someone uploads it before I go back to college!

Hm...perhaps I should wrap this up and got get ready for work considering I have only an hour left!

Hope this entry was imformative and entertaining (not that anyone reads it except my Dad)

12 More Days!!!!

Bored...time for an entry!

Well I have nothing to do right now, so I might as get recap the last couple of days...if I can remember them that is.

I worked 9 - 5 today. Very nice hours, I wish I could work that every day. 8 hours and getting out at 5 is very nice. I get to do it again tomorrow! I had my 3 month (even though it's only been two) evaluation by CSM Jen. I met all expectations. Everyone used to get a raise after their 3 month eval. if they met all expectations, but I was informed, afterwards of course, that they don't do that anymore. Instead everyone just has a higher starting pay and don't get their first raise until they've been there for a year. Oh well.

My mom just bought me some shirts on eBay:

Thanks mom!

The Panic at the Disco poster I ordered online along with Amber's My Chemical Romance poster came today.

I worked 6:30 - 11:00 yesterday but did nothing during the day but sit around and play video games.

Thursday I had the day off but Amber worked and we hung out after she got out.

There, I'm caught up again. I've been playing with the kittens everyday too. They are still cute as all hell!

I'm going to go play some video games, I just don't know what yet.

KITTENS!!!

We found four kittens outside and they are so cute! Three of them are siamese-looking and the fourth is black/white mixed. We named them Simon, Randy, Paula, and Ryan. I'm going to be putting some pics of them up on myspace.

Yesterday I worked 4:30 - 12:00 midnight. The shift wasn't too bad, it was more the idea of it that sucked. That combined with the fact that worked 8:30 - 5:00 today. I'm really tired now...

Amber got her new phone yesterday. I'm jealous. She switched to my phone plan so now we have one together. She got a black LG Shine because they didn't have the red one, she's going to bring back the black one and switch it out when the get the red one in.

I'm tired...*yawn*

HARBORFEST!!!

Sorry, I didn't get a chance to post about Harborfest yesterday. By the time I got home, I was extremely exhausted. So...I'll talk about it now!

It ended up thunderstorming most of the day and there wasn't really anywhere to hide so Amber and I got absolutely drenched and had to spend most of the day that way. We didn't let that "dampen" (haha) our spirits though and we still had a great time. I was really surprised at the quality of it all. I'd have to say it was almost on par with the New York State Fair minus the sponsorships (although they still had some) and livestock. The first stop we made in Oswego was to Bodified so I could get another ball for my horseshoe that I lost and Amber bought a horseshoe of her own.  The midway was overpriced, but I didn't really care about it anyway. Part of our reason for wanting to go was because Amber's roommate for next semester, Kelly was going to be there and we were going to meet up with her. I bought a "Monkey Nut" which was a cup made out of wood and coconuts that is shaped like a monkey. I'm using it as a bank lol.

The fireworks were aboslutely incredible. I guess the Harborfest fireworks are rated like 6th in the world and I can definetly see why. The whole show was simiulcast with 95X (I think that was the station) playing music to go right along with it. When the big swells in the music occured, the fireworks would follow suit. There is no way I can accurately describe it well enough. It is defintely something you have to see for yourself.

Oh, and I also bought a Harborfest t-shirt which you can see in this picture:

We had a great time and I'm so glad I went!

As for today, I worked 10 - 6. For dinner we had angel hair pasta with chicken, broccoli and carrots. I ate everything, including the vegetables. I told my parents Amber's getting me to eat my veggies. They were shocked. So much so that my Dad gave me $10 to go get ice cream (with the girls). I just got done cleaning the gerbil's cage and I'm getting ready to go watch some TV in my recliner.

I have the day off tomorrow, and I'm very grateful lol.

Misread schedule and college shopping!

  • Jul. 24th, 2008 at 11:23 PM
Me vest
So for whatever reason, I misread the schedule for today and thought I was working 11 - 7 but I was actually out at 3, so that was a nice surprise. I still had time to go college shopping after work instead of having to go tomorrow. When I got out, I went over to Gamestop and got my copy of Final Fantasy IV (for the DS) and headed over to Wendy's to get some food. Also because I knew Amber was out soon. Amber went back to her house and I went back to mine while we both got changed and stuff. She had me come over for dinner and she cooked me a dish with stir fry brocoli and mushrooms and tofu over couscous. We went out to Wal-Mart so I could get my last set of stuff I needed for college. I managed to get everything I needed with the exception of my ink cartredges and my laundry detergent. They just happened to be out of both, so I need to pick them up later.

We went home and watched Old School and just hung out until I brought her home for the night. I did my usual watching TV before going to bed.

Since i'm finally get some response on my questions...I guess..I'll keep posting them to see what's to come of them.

Your question of the day is: "If you have ever played a video game, what is the first game you remember playing?"
